4. What are the minimum qualifications to work at EVAC Ambulance

  • 19 years of age and High school gradute or equivalent
  • No dishonorable or undesrable discharge from any branch of the armed forces
  • No felony convictions
  • No misdemeanor convictions involving perjury, false statements, or moral turpitude
  • Possess and maintain a valid Florida class "E" driver's license. (visit www.hsmv.state.fl.us)
    • Not more than (5) points in the past 36 months
    • No suspensions(s) under the points system in Chapter 322 of Florida Law
    • Has not, within the past 5 years, been convicted of reckless driving or driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances and has not had a driver's license suspended under the point system provided for in chapter 322;
    • Driving record must be acceptable to EVAC's insurance carrier including but not limited to: No more than 2 moving violations in the past 34 months.
    • Possess a 16-hour certificate of completion from an Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) or equivalent. For course, contact Volusia County Fire Services at 386-239-6427, Daytona State College at 386-506-3000 or Central Florida Fire Academy located at Mid-Florida Technical Institue at 407-855-3281
    • All Applicants must satisfactorily meet the requirements of a criminal background investigation, and a comprehensive medical examination and wellness evaluation including drug screening.
    • PARAMEDIC
      • Valid State of Florida Paramedic certification
      • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
      • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification or American Red Cross health care provider "C" certification
    • EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN
    • Valid State of Florida EMT certification
    • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification or American Red Cross health care provider "C" certification
